Over seven weeks you'll learn about the materials involved in drawing: types of pencils and
pens, grades of paper and all the accessories that go with the skill. We'll cover types of lines
(hatching and cross-hatching) and learn about the all important values.
Types of compositions will be shown and we'll learn about the magic of negative space.
We'll have fun with one and two-point perspectives and exercise our talents
on "Still-Life" "set-ups" and organic forms.
We'll keep all our work to have a "Show and Impress" as our finale.

My background is in cell biology with degrees from the University of
Alabama...so definitely, "Roll Tide". I worked in basic research for years as well
as in scientific sales. Retirement allowed me to enjoy my lifelong passion for
doing and learning about art. I love to work in oils, watercolor and pastels, but
the simple graphite pencil can't be beaten for creative expression. I'm a member of
Roswell Fine Arts Alliance and was active at Seniors Enriched Living.
I've enjoyed living in Roswell for 30 years.
