What meaning and enjoyment can we possibly find in a poem from the 14th century? Come along for a light-filled exploration of Geoffrey Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales to see what makes it shine. We’ll meet the diverse characters and discover the wit, humor, wisdom, and humanity in this classic masterpiece. We won’t be daunted by Middle English – the text has a side-by-side translation into Modern English. We’ll begin with an overview of the prologue. Then each student will choose one of the tales to present to the class for discussion (guidelines provided). Our text is The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer edited by Peter G.
