Hello, ELM Students, Volunteers, and Supporters!
ELM is back for the 2021 Winter Session, and we’re here and ready to serve all life-long learners in our tested and proven, easy-to-use on-line environment! The session runs from January 11 through February 25, and will offer over 20 classes.
The 2020 Fall Session kicked off the new model, and it demonstrated the viability of continuing the ELM heritage in this virtual, on-line format. We enjoyed the company of 117 students participating in 18 different classes.
The feedback was amazing! The ELM students were delighted to again connect with their friends and instructors. Instructors adapted their materials and presentations to meet the new requirements and the needs of the students. Training sessions were available to help learn the easy-to-use software called Zoom (which is a free download for students).
It worked! And ELM is back with even more classes for Winter and high expectations for more students, support, and enrichment of life opportunities for all participants to enjoy. Once again, for the same $50.00 tuition, you can sign up for as many classes as you’d like (class size permitting). It’s a chance to reach out, try something new, stretch your wings, and continue to grow both your learning and computer skills. Check out the class list – there’s something there for you!
Have a friend that lives somewhere else? They can now sign up and join you in taking a class. How fun that would be! And forward the ELM link to others in your life – so long as they are over 50, they can enroll and take a class from anywhere!
Frankly, ELM needs you. ELM would not exist without you – and your need for lifelong learning, intellectual stimulation, and social connection with others. While ELM is a non-profit, 501-(c)3 organization, it does need your financial support to cover its prudent expenses, which include compensation for its director and small, part-time time staff; bookkeeping and tax preparation; printing and materials; web hosting and related costs; and other costs to maintain operations.
And whether or not you take any classes, consider making a tax-deductible contribution of any amount to ELM by going to the “Donate” tab on the website (elmcobb.org). Your support is needed to continue the viability of this wonderful and enriching organization that has served our community for almost 40 years! You can help make it happen – for you!
