Notification of the CLOSURE of Enrichment of Life Movement (ELM)
It is with deep regret that we are notifying you of the closure of the Enrichment of Life Movement (ELM). Through two years of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have strived to maintain ELM through whatever means possible, but time and resources have run out. The ELM Board and staff have used all available options to maintain ELM’s financial viability. These include seeking grants and loans, asking for registrations and donations from members and businesses, reducing salaries, and making deep cuts to an already small budget. Low virtual and in-person ELM registrations over five sessions, the cancellation of two Spring (2020 & 2022) sessions due to circumstances beyond our control, and the new restrictions for the use of the church have placed ELM in this untenable position.
Please know that every effort has been made to keep ELM alive the last two years and it breaks our hearts to close this amazing program. We cherish the remarkable learning experiences and camaraderie we have shared with you. We hope the significant friendships that have formed as a result of this program continue to grow and evolve. May we all persist in our quest for lifelong learning.
Under the ELM By-laws and Articles of Incorporation, our fiduciary responsibility is clear, and we are bound legally and ethically to act in accordance with both.
